Colorado’s Insurance Ratings; Not So Bad:
Posted by Leeat under Health Insurance , InsuranceNo Comments
Though Colorado insurance companies have yet to top the charts, their ratings are still far more superior to many others, as compared in the US NEWS for the Best Health Plans of 2006. Colorado’s competitive insurance market is ensuring better care, better physicians and greater favorable results. For instance, CIGNA, though a large group insurance carrier, has rated among the top companies in the USA garnering a spectacular ranking of 54 and an overall rating of 86.8%. According to patient surveys, CIGNA is in the ranks of many of the top nationwide insurance carriers, with patient satisfaction in areas such as access to care, plan physicians, prevention plans and overall treatments. Also at the top is the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Colorado, ranking at 56 only two spots down from CIGNA and an overall superb rating of 86.7%. Kaiser’s forte appears to be in access to care, specifically in getting care in a timely manner, as well as an extremely high rating for treatment services. As for the remainder of the Colorado carriers, though their rankings are not quite as high as those aforementioned, their overall ratings are still competitive; PacifiCare at 85.4% with strengths in access to care, physicians and treatment; United Health Care with an overall rating of 85.9%, with great reviews areas such as access to care, physician selection and prevention medicine. US NEWS recommends that patients should carefully select insurance carriers based upon their personal needs, but the confirmation by other patients that the given insurance carrier of choice has an overall top rating is certain to provide one with a peace of mind.

Breast cancer is one of women’s largest afflictions, and each waking day millions of dollars are raised and spent to fight this terrible disease. Surveys are drawn, and statistics are reported on how to reduce our risks, and finally they might just be paying off. According to the New England Journal of Medicine, a report indicates that there is an 8.6% decline in breast cancer from 2001-2004 in women that are post menopausal. This corresponds to a plunge in the number of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), which has been speculated to increase the chances of breast cancer.
While many women are opting not to take HRT, it may not be the only cause for the drop in breast cancer. Breast cancer may be genetic; however, there are quite a few precautions that you can take in order to help prevent breast cancer. These precautions may include healthy eating, and exercise. So ladies, lets do our part to fight breast cancer, and take better care of ourselves.
Please remember to stay on top of the game by getting routine mammograms, and breast exams; they are covered by all insurance companies in Colorado by State Mandate, so why not take advantage of it?

Personal experience with Elite Health and Life Insurance Services

My name is Oreet Felcher and I’ve been stricken with Common Variable Immune Deficiency and have tested positive for Cystic Fibrosis in the genetic panel, which translates into innumerable hospitalizations, medical procedures and extremely costly treatments and medication. A chronic illness coupled with insurance companies’ policies produces quite an interesting situation, to say the least. Thus, when Leeat Felcher, also my sister, became an insurance agent it seemed the best solution to use her services so that she could properly deal with the task of filing the multiple claims, and ensuring reimbursement and coverage for the highly expensive treatments and medical procedures. Without the aid of a broker at Elite Insurance Group, I could not have possibly dealt with all the paperwork in such a remarkable fashion. Certainly, the feat could potentially have been accomplished without the aid of a licensed broker; however, I did not see the need to further complicate my situation and placed my case into the reassuring and helping hands of Leeat at Elite Health and Life Insurance Services.
Having a broker facilitated the process with her extensive knowledge of insurance companies’ policies and dealt with my case in such a professional but tailored fashion. The brokers submitted my claims, dealt with coverage and ensured that all would be resolved smoothly without my ever having to pay a cent!
For all those in a similar situation, or simply do not know what or how to buy health insurance; a broker is your best bet!

Feeling the pinch of double-digit increases in insurance premiums over the past several years, a number of employers have rolled out various kinds of health-improvement initiatives intended to nudge at least some workers toward lifestyle changes that could help rein in medical costs. While these programs, also known as wellness plans, have been around for decades, companies are now giving employees a really good reason to participate: breaks on their insurance premiums.
